The guests and visitors of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animateka.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Festival of Animation Films Animateka in Ljubljana<\/a> will be able discover various animation filmmakers this edition. After last year&#8217;s awarded Slovak film <em>The Last Bus<\/em> by Martin Snopek and Ivana Lau\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 and <em>Who&#8217;s There?<\/em> by Vanda Ra\u00fdmanov\u00e1, the organizers decided to focus on Slovak animation during its 9th edition. The festival started\u00a0yesterday, December 3 and will run until December 9, 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Focus will offer a\u00a0collection of Slovak animation &#8211; from the first successful titles to the contemporary animation, awarded at various film festivals.\u00a0The\u00a0audience will have a chance to watch not only films\u00a0by\u00a0the famous animation filmmaker Viktor Kubal (<strong><em>Brigand Jurko<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<em><strong>Earth<\/strong><\/em>, <strong><em>Promotion<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Chess<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>The Ladder<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>The\u00a0Idol<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Puf and Muf at Home<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Whitebeard and the Dog<\/em><\/strong>), various archive animation films &#8211; <strong><em>The Statue<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Till the Handle Breaks\u00a0Off<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0and <strong><em>The Lot<\/em><\/strong> by Jaroslava Havettov\u00e1, <strong><em>The Eye <\/em><\/strong>by Juraj Bindz\u00e1r, <strong><em>The Giant and the Stone-cutter<\/em><\/strong> by Blanka \u0160perkov\u00e1, <strong><em>The Totem<\/em><\/strong> by Vladim\u00edr Pikal\u00edk and Ivan Popovi\u010d, <strong><em>The Queues<\/em><\/strong> by Helena Slav\u00edkov\u00e1-Rabarov\u00e1, <strong><em>Little Mouse Cooked Some Grits<\/em><\/strong> by Vladim\u00edr Herold, <strong><em>Cock-A-Doodle-Doo<\/em><\/strong> by Franti\u0161ek Juri\u0161i\u010d, <strong><em>Town on Danube<\/em><\/strong> by Rudolf Urc, <strong><em>The Umbrella<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>The Virgin Land<\/em><\/strong> by Ondrej Slivka.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">New animation films were also included into the Animateka selection: <strong><em>The Last Bus<\/em><\/strong> by Ivana Lau\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 and Martin Snopek, <strong><em>Stones<\/em><\/strong> by Katar\u00edna Kerekesov\u00e1, <strong><em>Four<\/em><\/strong> by Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1, <strong><em>Fat Fatal<\/em><\/strong> by Michaela \u010cop\u00edkov\u00e1, <strong><em>Viliam<\/em><\/strong> by Veronika Obertov\u00e1 and <strong><em>In the Box<\/em><\/strong> by Michal Struss.\u00a0The student works of the V\u0160MU film school will be also presented.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">More information at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animateka.si\/\">www.animateka.si<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Slovak animation is not just about Viktor Kubal.
