{"id":37680,"date":"2013-02-04T10:28:00","date_gmt":"2013-02-04T09:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=37680"},"modified":"2025-07-28T11:01:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T09:01:14","slug":"mira-fornays-my-dog-killer-awarded-with-the-hivos-tiger-award","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/mira-fornays-my-dog-killer-awarded-with-the-hivos-tiger-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Mira Fornay&#8217;s My Dog Killer Awarded with the Hivos Tiger Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/AIC_foto\/filmy\/my-dog-killer-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" class=\"table\" \/><strong>The 42nd International Film Festival Rotterdam Hivos Tiger Award went to Mira Fornay&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/moj-pes-killer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>My Dog Killer<\/em><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The jury consisting of Fatemeh Motamedarya (actress, Iran), Sergej Loznica (filmmaker, Rusko), Kees Hin (director, The Netherlands), Jose Luis Cienfuegos (director of Sevilla IFF, Spain) and Ai Weiwei (visual artist and social activist, China) appreciated <em><strong>My Dog Killer<\/strong><\/em> for <em>\u201cthe challenge for showing a very strong subject from the inside reveals the difficulty of life and a sense of violence.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition, two Tiger Awards also went to Daniel Hoesl\u2019s <strong><em>Soldier Jane <\/em><\/strong>and Mohammad Sirvani\u2019s <strong><em>Fat Shaker<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>My Dog Killer<\/strong><\/em>, the second feature by Mira Fornay and the first Rotterdam Competition entry in the festival\u00b4s history, tells a one-day story of eighteen-year-old Marek living near Slovak-Moravian border with his dad and with his racist skinhead friends, however, Marek\u2019s best friend is his dog.
