The 12th edition of Transilvania IFF (May 31 \u2013 June 9, 2013)<\/a> in Cluj-Napoca, Romania marks a significant presentation of Slovak films: in a section dedicated to Slovakia, it will screen seven Slovak both archive and new films, and the debut by Iveta Gr\u00f3fov\u00e1 A\u017e do mesta A\u0161<\/em> will moreover compete for the Transilvania Trophy, among others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with further eleven films, the debut of Iveta Gr\u00f3fov\u00e1 Made in Ash<\/em><\/strong> (2012), recently awarded at Crissing Euope IFF in Linz, will be presented in the festival\u00b4s Competition, introduced by the director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus: Slovakia\u00a0presents seven films:\u00a0besides Slovak film classics\u00a0The Sun in a Net<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by \u0160tefan Uher, 1962) and\u00a0Birdies, Orphans and Fool<\/a>s<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by Juraj Jakubisko, 1969), new Slovak fiction films \u2013\u00a0Fine, Thanks<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Prikler, 2013),\u00a0My Dog Killer<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by Mira Fornay, 2013) and\u00a0Dancing on Broken Glass<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>(by Marek \u0164ap\u00e1k, 2012), and recent documentaries \u2013\u00a0New Life of Family Album<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by Adam O\u013eha, 2012) and\u00a0Bells of Happiness<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(by Marek \u0160ul\u00edk & Jana Bu\u010dka, 2012), will be introduced. Film director M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Prikler, protagonists M\u00e1ria and Ter\u00e9zia O\u013ehov\u00e1 (New Life of Family Album<\/a><\/strong><\/em>) and producer Juraj Buzalka (My Dog Killer<\/em><\/strong>) will be present at the event. Alexandra Strelkov\u00e1, representative of the Slovak Film Institute representative, will introduce both classics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers of the Slovak section are: Slovak Film Institute, the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic<\/a> and Transilvania IFF<\/a>, in co-operation with the Embassy of Slovak Republic in Bucharest, Romania<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
