{"id":37712,"date":"2013-07-08T14:13:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-08T12:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=37712"},"modified":"2025-07-28T15:36:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T13:36:37","slug":"three-awards-for-slovak-films-at-karlovy-vary-iff","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/three-awards-for-slovak-films-at-karlovy-vary-iff\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Awards for Slovak Films at Karlovy Vary IFF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/AIC_foto\/festivaly_loga\/kviff-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" class=\"table\" \/><strong>The rich participation of Slovak films at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kviff.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">48th Karlovy Vary IFF (June 28 \u2013 July 6, 2013)<\/a>\u00a0resulted in a successful finale: three of the\u00a0competing Slovak\u00a0films received awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The opening film of the East of the West \u2013 Films in Competition section <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/zazrak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Miracle<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd received the Special Mention by the Jury headed by \u00c9va Vez\u00e9r and including\u00a0Peter Paul Huth, Maja Milo\u0161, Piotr Mularuk and Sergej Stanojkovski. The award was personally accepted by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd.<\/p>\n<p>The Czech-Slovak title <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/libanky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Honeymoon<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Jan H\u0159ebejk was given the Best Director Award, granted by the Grand Jury \u2013 this year headed by president Agnieszka Holland and featuring Ivo Andrle, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Boyer, Alon Garbuz, Claudia Llosa, Meenakshi Shedde and Sigurjon &#8220;Joni&#8221; Sigvatsson. The award was accepted by the director.<\/p>\n<p>The non-statutory award given by the federation of European film critics FEDEORA was handed out to the directors&#8217; trio film <strong><em>Velvet Terrorists<\/em><\/strong>, which was screened within the East of the West \u2013 Films in Competition section. The FEDEORA Jury consisted of James Evans, Michael Ranze a Tonci Valentic.
