The 19th Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris<\/a> (March 20 \u2013 April 3, 2014), one of the most anticipated and respected cultural events in Lithuania, is certainly a great venue for Slovak films.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year, My Dog Killer<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Mira Fornay brought home the Award for the Best Director, and this year, in the International Competition\u00a0New Europe \u2013 New Names Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd and his second feature Miracle<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(2013)\u00a0<\/strong>represents Slovak cinema. Juraj will present the film in Vilnius, together with the scriptwriter Marek Le\u0161\u010d\u00e1k.<\/p>\n

In the international short film competition,\u00a0Homo Ciris<\/em><\/strong> (2013) Jana Min\u00e1rikov\u00e1 and The Pan<\/em>das<\/strong><\/em> (2013)\u00a0<\/strong>by Mat\u00fa\u0161 Viz\u00e1r take the challenge among 29 selected shorts. Pandas will be supported by the presence of the producer Peter Bada\u010d (Bfilm, Slovakia).<\/p>\n

Festival section Critics\u00b4 Choice shows 15 films selected by sever prominent international film critics, and among them the\u00a0Velvet Terrorists<\/em><\/strong> (2013), by Pavol Pekar\u010d\u00edk, Ivan Ostrochovsk\u00fd and Peter Kerekes, already awarded by FEDEORA critics\u00b4 at Karlovy Vary IFF 2013, as well as by audiences, namely the readers of Tagespiegel at Berlinale 2014.<\/p>\n

The Exhibition<\/em><\/strong> (2013)\u00a0<\/strong>by Peter Beg\u00e1nyi and Andrej Kolen\u010d\u00edk is shown in the Shorts showcase, under the title Joke Black.<\/p>\n

The fifth edition of the festival\u00b4s Industry forum Meeting Point Vilnius<\/a> will host a special program, attended by several Slovak film professionals.<\/p>\n

The New Europe \u2013 New Names Jury will also include the film programmer and critic of Slovak origin \u013dudmila Cvikov\u00e1.<\/p>\n
