This year the festival\u00a0honours the Slovak film director Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k, who has recently received The Sun in a Net Award for Outstanding Contribution to Slovak Cinema.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Slovak films\u00a0will be presented in three sections of the showcase:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/AIC-2013\/50_80\/ruzove-sny.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" class=\"table\" \/><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">The retrospective section dedicated to Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k offers his feature debut <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/322\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>322<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1969), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/obrazy-stareho-sveta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Pictures of the Old World<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> which belongs among the most popular archive Slovak films screening abroad, and the titles <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/ruzove-sny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Rosy Dreams<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1976), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/ja-milujem-ty-milujes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>I Love, You Love<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1980), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/ticha-radost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Silent Joy<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1985), <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Private Lives<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1990), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/ticha-radost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Paper Heads<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1995).\u00a0The section will also screen his most significant short films<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>: <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/ticha-radost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Call Into Silence<\/em><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1965), <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Learning<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1965), <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>Old Shatterhand Came to See Us<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (1966), <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>The Mass <\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">(1977). In addition, Martin \u0160ul\u00edk\u00b4s <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>The Golden Sixties<\/em><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>: Du<\/em><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>\u0161an Han\u00e1k<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> will show the director\u00b4s profile and works. The retrospective will be supported by the personal presence of the director, who will also present an exhibition of his photographic works.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The section called <strong>Great War<\/strong> offers six films which have the common theme of witnessing the absurdity of the war. Slovak archive films related to the topic show are:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/styridsatstyrii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Fortyfour Mutineers <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(1957) by Pa\u013eo Bielik, <strong><em>Deserters and Pilgrims<\/em><\/strong> (1968) by Juraj Jakubisko (one story),\u00a0<strong><em>Wild Lilies<\/em><\/strong> (1972) by Elo Havetta, <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/signum-laudis-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Signum Laudis<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1980) by Martin Holl\u00fd and <strong><em>The Angel of Mercy<\/em><\/strong> (1993) by Miloslav Luther.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/AIC_foto\/filmy\/zamatovi-teroristi-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" class=\"table\" \/>The <strong>New Slovak Films<\/strong> section will present eleven feature, documentary and animated movies from the last two years:\u00a0features\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/zazrak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Miracle<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/kandidat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>The Candidate<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) by Jon\u00e1\u0161 Kar\u00e1sek, followed by documentaries <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/kauza-cervanova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Normalization<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) by Robert Kirchhoff, <strong><em>Velvet Terrorists<\/em><\/strong> (2013) by trio of directors Pavol Pekar\u010d\u00edk, Ivan Ostrochovsk\u00fd and Peter Kerekes, <strong><em>New Life of Family Album<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(2012) by Adam O\u013eha (2012), <strong><em>Exhibits or Stories from the Castle<\/em><\/strong> (2013) by Palo Korec, <strong><em>History Lesson<\/em><\/strong> (2013) by Du\u0161an Tran\u010d\u00edk, <strong><em>Footprints on the Ridge<\/em><\/strong> (2013) by Pavol Barab\u00e1\u0161.
