Focus: Contemporary Slovak Cinema 2014 \/ Pictures and Dreams \u2013 The Most Awarded Slovak Films will be showcased from June 4 to June 11, 2014 in Skopje, Macedonia on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishing of the diplomatic relations between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Macedonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A representative selection of Slovak cinema is brought to Skopje with the main aim to present to wide Macedonian audience the recent films from young and\u00a0already renowned Slovak filmmakers.<\/p>\n

The contemporary full-length production is selected from the features that are currently representing Slovakia at international film festivals. The selection includes: The Miracle<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) directed by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd, My Dog Killer<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) directed by Mira Fornay, Made in Ash<\/em><\/strong> (2012) directed by Iveta Gr\u00f3fov\u00e1, The Candidate<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2013) directed by Jon\u00e1\u0161 Kar\u00e1sek and House <\/em><\/strong>(2011) made by director and screenwriter Zuzana Liov\u00e1. Among features there are selected three internationally awarded Slovak documents of recent years \u2013 Blind Loves<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2008) by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd, Cooking History<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2009) by Peter Kerekes and Osadn\u00e9<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2009) by Marko \u0160kop.<\/p>\n

In addition to full-length production the program is enriched by a representative selection of internationally awarded animated shorts. The student Oscar-nominated film In the Cube<\/em><\/strong> (1999) by Michal Struss, animated films Four<\/strong><\/em> (2007) and Snow<\/strong> (2013) by Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1, a puppet opera Stones <\/em><\/strong>(2010) by Katar\u00edna Kerekesov\u00e1, Moon<\/em><\/strong> (2012) by Ondrej Rudavsk\u00fd, tWINs<\/strong> (2011) by Peter Budinsk\u00fd, The Last Bus<\/em><\/strong> (2011) by Martin Snopek and Ivana Lau\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1, Dust and Glitter<\/em><\/strong> (2011) by Michaela \u010cop\u00edkov\u00e1 and Veronika Obertov\u00e1 and Fongopolis<\/em><\/strong> (2014) by Joanna Ko\u017cuch.<\/p>\n

The film showcase is held under the auspices of H.E. Martin Bez\u00e1k, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Macedonia and H. E. Elizabeta Kan\u010deska-Milevska, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia.<\/p>\n
