Children <\/em>(2014), the fiction debut by the renowned Slovak documentary filmmaker Jaro Vojtek was screened in the Official Selection \u2013 Competition of the 5th Beijing IFF<\/a> in its international premiere.<\/strong><\/p>\n The main competition section presented by the new international programming team\u00a0headed by the chief advisor\u00a0Marco Mueller included 16 film, all shown in their world or international premieres. The prominent competition jury composed of renowned names such as Luc Besson, Kim Ki-duk, Fernando Fernando Meirelles had the task to decide on 10 Tiantan awards and awarded three of them to the Slovakian competition entry.<\/p>\n Children were awarded for the Best Script \u2013 Marek Le\u0161\u010d\u00e1k, Best Cinematography \u2013Tom\u00e1\u0161 Stanek and Best Actress in Supporting Role \u2013 \u00c9va Bandor, who accepted the award in person from Kim Ki-duk. Awards for Marek Le\u0161\u010d\u00e1k and Tom\u00e1\u0161 Stanek were handed over to the producer of the film, M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Prikler (Mphilms).<\/p>\n Children was premiered in Autumn 2014 in both Slovak and Czech cinemas. Currently it competes in the Official Competition of Czech and Slovak Feature Films at the Czech festival Finale Plze\u0148<\/a>.<\/p>\n In April 2015, Jaro Vojtek’s latest film, So Far, So Near<\/em><\/strong> (2015) premiered in Slovak cinemas. The documentary film contemplates the coexistence of autistic children with their parents, striving to to find new ways of looking at this serious disorder of the human psyche.
