The 6th edition of the International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm <\/a>in Trebon, Czech Republic (May 5 \u2013 10, 2015) introduces an interesting official competition program as well as a platform for film professionals Visegrad Animation Forum<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Slovak films in the programme of Anifilm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Slovak animation is represented in three competition sections of the festival. Nina<\/em><\/strong> by Veronika Obertov\u00e1 and Michaela \u010cop\u00edkov\u00e1 is included in the International Competition of Short Films<\/a>; two Slovak student animations, Half Puppet<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by Jasmine Elsen and Aion<\/em><\/strong> by Petra Heleninov\u00e1, both from the Animation Department of the Film and TV Faculty of V\u0160MU in Bratislava were selected for the International Competition of Student Films<\/a>.\u00a0Videocip DVA: No Survi<\/em><\/strong> by Andrej Kolen\u010d\u00edk and Peter Skala is presented in the International Competition of Music Videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maro\u0161 Brojo, the artistic director of Fest An\u010da International Animation Festival in \u017dilina, is one of three member of the jury for the International Competition of musicvideos and non-narative, experimental and boundary forms of animation.<\/p>\n

Anifilm programme introduces also Works in Progress<\/a>, the presentation of upcoming full-length animation films. This year, Slovak project Heart of a Tower<\/em><\/strong> by Peter Budinsk\u00fd, produced by plutoon production company, will be presented alongside with Insects<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0by Jan \u0160vankmajer and The Great Adventures of Rosa and Dora<\/strong><\/em> by Martin Duda.<\/p>\n

Visegrad Animation Forum with Slovak Participation<\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 6-8, Anifilm hosts Visegrad\u00a0Animation Forum<\/a>, film industry and market access platform for film professionals active in animation, with the aim to attract new partners, producers, broadcasters, and film distributors and assist in finding ways of financing both short, animated features and TV series. In addition, Another important objective is to improve the practical abilities of animated film authors and producers and to seek and offer connections among film professionals, authors and television producers and distributors from different countries.<\/p>\n

Two Slovak projects are included in the selection for the pitching forum of short film sin development: No\u010dn\u00e1<\/em><\/strong>, presented by the director Andrej Gregor\u010dok and the script-writer Luk\u00e1\u0161 Sigmund (prod: Banda) and There Once Was a Sea…,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0an animated documentary presented by its director Joanna Kozuch and the producer Eva Pavlovi\u010dov\u00e1 (prod. Bfilm, plackartnyj).<\/p>\n

Non-competition pitching session dedicated to TV series in production will aslo feature the Slovak series Drobci <\/em><\/strong><\/a>by two directors, Vanda Ra\u00fdmanov\u00e1 and Michal Struss.<\/p>\n

In this year\u00b4s jury in the pitching competition for TV series in development<\/a>, Slovak public broadcaster Radio and Television Slovakia<\/a> (RTVS) is present, namely by Vaclav Mika, the general manager of RTVS, and Tibor B\u00faza, the programme manager ot RTVS.<\/p>\n

Two discussion roundtables on current topics take place during VAF:
\nWho supports animation? What are the options for minority coproductions in central and Eastern Europe?<\/em> with the presence of Katarina Kerekesova representing Slovakia;
\nand a debate on What do TV broadcasters look for?<\/em> with Slovak public broadcaster representatives, V\u00e1clav Mika and Tibor B\u00faza (RTVS).<\/p>\n

Last but not least, VAF introduces a new project, the Visegrad Animation Ralley<\/em><\/strong>, a DVD compilation of 8 of the best student and debut aniumated films from the Visegrad countries from 2014 and 2015. Two Slovak animation films are included in the DVD collection: Fongopolis<\/strong><\/em>, debut by Joanna Ko\u017cuch and student film by Kamila Ku\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 In Line.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Slovak participation at VAF is coordinated by the Slovak\u00a0Association of Animation Producers<\/a> (APAF), with the support of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n
