\"\"The Irish city of Cork will host the 1st edition of the Visegrad Film Festival<\/a>, a festival focusing on the film production in the V4 countries, June 24 \u2013 28, 2015. The programme will present a wide range of Slovak films, including titles of the Slovak classics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opening film of the festival is the first Slovak feature \u2013 J\u00e1no\u0161\u00edk<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1921), a silent film by Jaroslav Siake\u013e, which will be accompanied by live music provided by the Non Toxic Orchestra. Classics such as Pictures of the Old World<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1972) by Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k, Birdies, Orphans and Fools<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1969) by Juraj Jakubisko and Forty-Four Mutineers<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1957) by Pa\u013eo Bielik will be also screened.<\/p>\n

The contemporary cinema will be represented by a selection of fiction and documentary films, as well as a collection of shorts:

The Czech programme of the festival will feature the co-production omnibus documentary film Gottland<\/em><\/strong>, co-directed by Viera \u010c\u00e1kanyov\u00e1, an up-and-coming Slovak documentary filmmaker and editor.<\/p>\n

The festival takes place in the Deja View Club, at the Camden Palace Hotel in Cork, and is organized by the Camden Quay Community Arts Centre Limited, already\u00a0experienced with film evening screenings of Slovak, Czech, Hungarian and Polish cinematography. After the intensive festival week, the\u00a0Centre will continue with the screenings during the whole year. One of the main organizers of the festival is the Slovak Embassy in Dublin<\/a>. Partners and co-organizers of the Slovak participation at the festival<\/a>\u00a0are EEE, Slovak Film Institute, V\u0160MU<\/a>, FILMTOPIA<\/a> and Kine\u010dko<\/a>\u00a0magazine.
