The Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia 2015 is moving from its first stop in\u00a0Melbourne<\/a>\u00a0to Sydney<\/a>\u00a0and then continues\u00a0to its final destination Perth<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year\u00b4s edition in Sydney (October 21 \u2013 25, 2015) expands to a\u00a0five day showcase of the most critically acclaimed and popular box office hits from both countries.
\nWithin the manifold programme following Slovak feature films will be screened: co-production title Fair Play<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Andrea Sedl\u00e1\u010dkov\u00e1) \u2013 a story which deals with the sensitive topic of doping in sport under the former regime; In Silence<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Zden\u011bk Jir\u00e1sk\u00fd) \u2013 a stylised docu-drama on the lives of Jewish musicians in Czechoslovakia and Germany who were persecuted during the Holocaust; the Slovak box-office hit 38<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Daniel Dangl, Luk\u00e1\u0161 Zednikovi\u010d) – a documentary film on the recently deceased ice-hockey legend, Pavol Demitra; a fairy tale both for youngsters and grown-ups Seven Ravens<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Alice Nellis) inspired by a famous Slovak folk story of courage, perseverance, power of language and true love. The lovers of archive films shoul not miss Juraj Jakubisko\u00b4s Sitting on a Branch I Am Fine<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 taking place right after the end of WW II. depicting three homeless and lonely people in their very own ways trying to fulfill their dreams of happiness.

\n<\/strong>Each feature-film in the Festival\u00b4s programme is accompannied by an interestnig short film, seven of them from Slovakia:\u00a0What We Did Before We Drank Cocoa Together<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Aramisova), Fongopolis <\/strong><\/em><\/a>(dir. Joanna Ko\u017cuch), Force of Attraction <\/strong><\/em>(dir. Eva Sekere\u0161ov\u00e1), Green Line <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Martina Buchelov\u00e1), Half babka<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Jasmine Elsen), Kuku<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Henrich \u017ducha) and Love <\/strong><\/em>(dir. Maja Brnu\u0161\u00e1kov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

This year\u00b4s volume\u00a0the festival presents a special selection of the best of young cinematic talent from the graduating students of the Czech and Slovak Film Academies FAMU, UTB and FTF V\u0160MU. The\u00a0pick of\u00a0films from the Slovak Academy of Perfomring Arts (V\u0160MU) includes titles: The Neverending Story Of Grandpa and Grandma<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Petra Albertyov\u00e1), Circle Pit <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Martin Machalik), Family \u2013 The Essence of Life <\/strong><\/em>(dir. Marta Prokopov\u00e1), Shadows <\/strong><\/em>(<\/em>dir. Zuzana \u017diakov\u00e1), Half babka<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Jasmine Elsen), Force of Attraction<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Eva Sekere\u0161ov\u00e1) and Fongopolis <\/strong><\/em><\/a>(dir. <\/em>Joanna Ko\u017cuch).<\/p>\n

For the first time, the festival extends also\u00a0to Perth (November 19 \u2013 22, 2015). Three Slovak feature\u00a0and two shorts films\u00a0will be screened within four days: Seven Ravens<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Alice Nellis), 38<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Daniel Dangl, Luk\u00e1\u0161 Zednikovi\u010d), Fair Play<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Andrea Sedl\u00e1\u010dkov\u00e1) and the short pre-films: Kuku<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Henrich \u017ducha), Force of Attraction<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Eva Sekere\u0161ov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia is organized by Iksima<\/a>, in cooperation with production company ARINA<\/a>, the Slovak Film Institute, and Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia Inc.<\/a> (CaSFFA) with financial support of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund<\/a>. Partners of the event are V\u0160MU<\/a>, Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic<\/a>, Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Canberra<\/a>, Slovak Tourist Board<\/a>.<\/p>\n
