The 29th edition of film festival Fin\u00e1le Plze\u0148<\/a> (April 15 \u2013 21, 2016) will host a significant number of Slovak film titles. The competition showcase of Czech and Slovak films features last year\u00b4s production as well as films produced this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A number of recent films will take part in the competition sections. In the new Czech and Slovak feature films competition section Golden Kingfisher \u2013 Feature Live Action or Animated Films Competition will vie eight Slovak titles: Home Care<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Sl\u00e1vek Hor\u00e1k), Eva Nov\u00e1<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Marko \u0160kop), Koza<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Ivan Ostrochovsk\u00fd), The Little Man<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Radek Beran), Family Film<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Olmo Omerzu), Seven Ravens<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Alice Nellis) and Wilson City<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Ma\u0161\u00edn).<\/p>\n

In the Golden Kingfisher – Documentary Competition fights three titles: Waiting Room<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Palo Korec), Through the Eyes of the Photographer<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Matej Min\u00e1\u010d) and Steam on the River<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Robert Kirchhoff, Filip Remunda).<\/p>\n

Two TV projects were selected for Golden Kingfisher –\u00a0Serial and Non-serial TV and Internet Production Competition in the\u00a0Non-Cycle category: documentary True \u0160tur<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Michal Bal\u00e1\u017e) and fairytale Johanna’s Mystery<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Juraj Nvota) which was also released in cinemas. Both of them are co-produced by the Slovak national broadcaster RTVS \u2013 Radio and Television Slovakia.<\/p>\n

More Slovak films are introduced within the non-competitive sections.
\nIn the Nets of 2015 shows Lokalfilmis<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Jakub Kroner), Little from the Fish Shop<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Jan Balej), Stanko<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Ras\u0165o Boro\u0161), Vojtech<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Viktor Csudai), The Cleaner<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Peter Bebjak), and Fateful Moment<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Gabriel Ho\u0161taj); Slovak documentaries Rytmus a Dream from the Block<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Miro Drobn\u00fd) and The Czech Way<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Martin Kohout) are presented within Documentary Dimentions 2015.
\nThe co-production title The Red Spider<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Marcin Koszalka) is screen as a part of specialized section Czech Traces in International Co-productions.

\nThe selection of the latest Czech and Slovak films will be presented within the section Riding the 2016 Wave: I, Olga Hepnarova<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Weinreb, Petr Kazda), The Red Captain<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Michal Koll\u00e1r), Murderous Tales<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Jan Buben\u00ed\u010dek), The Tiger\u00a0Theory<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Radek Bajgar), Trabant \u2013 From Australia to Bangkok<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Dan P\u0159ib\u00e1\u0148); and within the First Catch section: <\/em>Agave<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Ondrej \u0160ulaj), In Your Dreams!<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Peter Oukropec) and TV series The First One<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The festival does not forget about young filmmakers. At the Source introduces student films from the V4 countries produced last year. Four Slovak representatives from the Academy of Perfoming Arts are screen within the section: Once Upon a Time<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Daniel Rih\u00e1k), Crush Him!<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martin Mach\u00e1lik), Chronos<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martin Kazim\u00edr) a Meow<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Marek Jasa\u0148).<\/p>\n

Several filmmakers and actors will come to present their films to Pilsen.<\/p>\n

A newly tailored presentation of upcoming Czech Films Czech Film Springboard, will traditionally be a part of the festival’s programme, introducing several co-production Slovak projects, as well. The presentation is a part of the film professional programme Industry Days and is organized by the Czech Film Center in co-opeartion with Fin\u00e1le Plze\u0148.<\/p>\n
