The showcase Slovenian Film Days, held in cinema Kino Lumi\u00e8re<\/a> in Bratislava, begins on Thursday, April 21, 2016, and will last until Sunday, April 24, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During four days, the event will screen two of the Slovenian national nominees for the Academy Award (Oscar) in category Foreign Language Film, Rooster’s Breakfast<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Marko Naber\u0161nik) and Class Enemy<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Rok Bi\u010dek). The latter was awarded with Grand Prix at 15th Bratislava\u00a0IFF and nominated for the 2014 LUX Prize. The total number of seven films further includes fiction features \u0160i\u0161ka Deluxe<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jan Cvitkovi\u010d), Dad<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Vlado \u0160kafar), Good to Go<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Matev\u017e Luzar), digitally restored archive film Funeral Fest<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Matja\u017e Klop\u010di\u010d), and documentary Alexandrians<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Metod Pevec).<\/p>\n

The opening film, comedy\u00a0\u0160i\u0161ka Deluxe<\/em>,<\/strong> will be personally presented by actor Marko Miladinovi\u0107 and producers of the film Ale\u0161 Pavlin and Andrej \u0160tritof.<\/p>\n

The films will be screened in original language with English and Slovak (or Czech) subtitles. Please, pick up free ticket at the cash desk of the cinema one hour before screening. No reservation needed. For the opening, number of tickets open to public is limited.<\/p>\n

The event is organized as part of the Cultural Plan of Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic 2016, and commemorates 25 years of independence of the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n

Organizers of Slovenian Film Days are the Slovak Film Institute, Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic<\/a>, Slovenian Film Centre<\/a> and Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bratislava<\/a>. Partner of the showcase: Slovene Lectureship at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava.<\/p>\n
