The International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm<\/a> in T\u0159ebo\u0148 (May 3 \u2013 8, 2016) introduces several Slovak films within\u00a0its official programme, as well as at the platform for film professionals Visegrad Animation Forum (May 3 \u2013 5, 2016).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Slovak films in the programme of Anifilm
\n\"\"Film Saturday Evening <\/em><\/strong>by \u0160imon M\u00e9szaros, Slovak student at FAMU Prague,\u00a0was selected for the International Competition of Student Films. The short tells a sad and nostalgic story of an ageing couple with unsolved issues from the past. Spirit of the City <\/em><\/strong>by Andrej Kolen\u010d\u00edk and Veronika Kocourkov\u00e1, the official video\u00a0for the single of Slovak singer Jana Kirschner,\u00a0competes in the International Competition of Musicvideos.<\/p>\n

The accompanying film programme features further Slovak films. The section Where Is My Home?\u00a0screens\u00a0the successful and visually captivating TV project True \u0160t\u00far<\/em><\/strong> by Michal Bal\u00e1\u017e, as well as Lunik IX.<\/em><\/strong> by Michelle Coomber, a bittersweet tale of childhood in Central Europe\u2019s largest Roma ghetto. TV series for children Mimi and Lisa<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Katar\u00edna Kerekesov\u00e1 will be screened within the\u00a0Animo selection; and Taking Stock\u00a0will show\u00a0the Slovak\u00a0co-production title Little from the Fish Shop<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Jan Balej.<\/p>\n

Works in Progress\u00a0of Anifilm presents upcoming full-length animation films. This year\u00b4s edition\u00a0includes Slovak co-production project Oddsockeaters<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Galina Mikl\u00ednov\u00e1 \u2013 a story of the small creatures who live alongside of humans and are responsible for the socks that go missing when we only have one left from a pair \u2013 the odd sock.

\n<\/strong>Visegrad Animation Forum with Slovak Participation (VAF)
\n\"\"On May 3-5, 2016 Anifilm hosts Visegrad Animation Forum, film industry and market access platform for film professionals active in animation, with the aim to attract new partners, producers, broadcasters and film distributors, and to assist in finding ways of financing shorts, animated features and TV series.<\/p>\n

Main Pitching competitions at VAF also include Slovak projects in the official selection:
\nTwo Slovak projects of production company Bfilm<\/a> are included in the selection for the pitching competition of Short Films in Development: The End <\/em><\/strong>by David \u0160tumpf and Michaela Mih\u00e1lyiov\u00e1, and UNTRAVEL <\/em><\/strong>by Any Nedeljkovi\u0107 and Nikolu Majdaka Jr. Project Mufl\u00f3n Ancij\u00e1\u0161 <\/em><\/strong>by Juraj Krumpolec and Igor Derevenec competes among TV Series.<\/p>\n

New Talents, the selection focusing on films\u00a0by extraordinary talents with promising future careers,\u00a0introduces Cowboyland, <\/em><\/strong>a short by David \u0160tumpf. The project counts on the presentation of this compilation at selected European animated film festivals, drawing attention\u00a0on new talents and bringing them together with experienced foreign producers.<\/p>\n

VAF Pitching competition juries also feature Slovak film professionals: Slovak director and producer Juraj Krasnohorsk\u00fd is\u00a0a member of the international jury for Short Films in Development; Tibor B\u00faza, programme manager of Slovak public broadcaster RTVS, is a member of the jury for\u00a0TV series competition.<\/p>\n

In addition, VAF hosts\u00a0a meeting of the middle-European funders focusing on the opportunities of co-productions in the animation for children. The Slovak Audiovisual Fund is represented by its director, Martin \u0160matl\u00e1k.<\/p>\n

Slovak up-and-coming projects will be presented within the Slovak Breakfast on May 5.
\nSlovak participation at VAF is coordinated by the Slovak Association of Animation Producers<\/a> (APAF), with the support of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n
