The 18th Bratislava International Film Festival<\/a> (November 11 \u2013 17, 2016) focuses on the city both as real and cinematic space, and brings on this topic a various film titles from all around the world. The festival does not leave behind the domestic titles as well, and prepares a colourful section Made in Slovakia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The label section Topic: City, presenting a broad palette of films, ranging from popular stories about the life in the city to film essays to modern variations of urban symphony, a favorite genre of film avantgardists, features also a documentary essay by Martin Kollar 5 October<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Already mentioned sidebar Made in Slovakia presents feature films: Peace to You All<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Juraj Mravec), Parlika\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(dir. Sahraa Karimi), The Professional Foreigner<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Anna Gruskov\u00e1) and Murderous Tales<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Jan Buben\u00ed\u010dek); and short films A Tall Tale<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Lucia Nimcov\u00e1), The Nest<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Krist\u00edna Leidenfrostov\u00e1) and Interviews<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Paula \u010eurinov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

The section also includes student films from Bratislava’s V\u0160MU: Chilli<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martina Miku\u0161ov\u00e1), Mila Fog<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Marta Prokopov\u00e1), Occupation<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martina Miku\u0161ov\u00e1), Perfect Burrow<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Lea Smitkov\u00e1), I Am Sorry<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Teodor Kuhn), Handstern<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Luk\u00e1\u0161 Fige\u013e), The Test<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Gregor Valentovi\u010d), [: \u201eIf we die tomorrow…\u201c :] S\u00e1ra, Emma and Images of Growing Up <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Lena Ku\u0161nierikov\u00e1); and Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica’s AKU: The Moments of Dreams<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Michal Ko\u010di\u0161), Mundi <\/em><\/strong>(d. Martin Malo), Nebojsa<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jakub Gajdo\u0161), Trayeces<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Barbora Vaculov\u00e1), Alone<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Monika Va\u0161korov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

The programme does not forget about the little ones. At the occasion of the 60th broadcasting anniversary of the Radio and Television of Slovakia, the festival prepares screening for the youngest viewers (and their parents) in cooperation with the broadcaster and presents a bedtime series The Tots<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Vanda Ra\u00fdmanov\u00e1, Michal Struss) even before it appears on their TV screens.<\/p>\n

And last but not least, <\/strong>Martin Huba, one of the most accomplished Slovak actors of his generation, will receive the award for lifetime artistic achievement during a closing ceremony<\/p>\n
