The festival will present a wide range of quality films from the region of the V4 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">After last year\u00b4s premiere edition focusing on Slovak films, this year\u00b4s programme will put a spotlight on Polish cinematography.\u00a0But still\u00a0Slovak films cannot absent!<\/p>\n<p>The core of the Slovak films&#8217; pick consists of outstanding archive films released on Blu-Rays in honour of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union: <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/papierove-hlavy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Paper Heads<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k), <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/blu-ray\/blu-ray-ja-milujem-ty-milujes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>I Love, You Love<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k) and <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/boxer-a-smrt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>The <\/em><\/strong><em><strong>Boxer and Death <\/strong><\/em><\/a>(dir. Peter Solan). These three are accompanied by a dazzling title <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/eshop\/dvd\/slepe-lasky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Blind Loves <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd) and a documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/5-october\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>5 October <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Martin Kollar).<\/p>\n<p>As prefilms to these features a contemporary short films will be screened: <strong><em>Homo Crisis<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jana Min\u00e1rikov\u00e1), <strong><em>Mila Fog<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Marta Prokopov\u00e1), <strong><em>Remembering \u201990<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Barbora Berez\u0148\u00e1kov\u00e1), <strong><em>Chronos<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martin Kazim\u00edr) and <strong><em>Pictures 2<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Andrej Dan\u00f3czi).<\/p>\n<p>Part of the festival will be also a special installation <em>Remembering \u201990 <\/em>by Barbora Berez\u0148\u00e1kov\u00e1 taking place at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery. The installation consists of Slovak amateur video archives from the 90ties, collected systematically by the author since 2012. This authentic material offers a view into the personal situation of post-revolutionary times in former Czechoslovakia. Taken out of the original context, the &#8220;film stripes&#8221; acquire a new perspective enabling a reflection on the amateur way of storytelling but also the content of the depicted reality.<br \/>\nAdditionally, Eva Pa will lead an experimental film workshop <em>Cut your own!<\/em> using 16 mm film material from the University College of Cork and St. John&#8217;s Central College.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Irish audience will also have a chance to watch Slovak films <strong><em>5 October<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Homo Ciris<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Remembering &#8217;90<\/em><\/strong> on VOD platform <a href=\"http:\/\/dafilms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dafilms.com<\/a> till October 9.<\/p>\n<p>The director Barbora Berez\u0148\u00e1kov\u00e1, producer Eva Pa and Slovak Film Institute representative Imelda Selkov\u00e1 will attend the festival and introduce contemporary Slovak cinematogrpahy to the Irish audience.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the Visegrad Film Festival in Cork, is to launch an intercultural dialogue between Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Ireland. This interesting and unconventional project opens new possibilities of learning about the culture of the Visegrad region.<br \/>\nPartners and co-organizers of the Slovak participation at the festival\u00a0are\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfu.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slovak Film Institute<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vsmu.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">V\u0160MU<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kinecko.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kine\u010dko<\/a>\u00a0magazine.
