The 11th International Film Festival Cinematik<\/a> (September 13 \u2013 18, 2016) will feature several Slovak films in competitive sections of European fiction films and Slovak documentaries and two Slovak co-productions will be premiered in the non-competitive sidebar dedicated to domestic production.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cinematik.doc will present a strong selection of contemporary Slovak documentaries. Six documentary films will compete for the Cinematik.doc Literary Fund Award: Waiting Room <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Palo Korec), Okhwan’s Mission Impossible <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Marek Mackovi\u010d), Freedom under Load <\/em><\/strong><\/a>(dir. Pavol Barab\u00e1\u0161), 5 October<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Martin Koll\u00e1r), When Land Is Looking for Its Heaven<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Erik Praus) and Steam on the River<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Robert Kirchhoff, Filip Remunda).<\/p>\n

More Slovak films will be screened witihin\u00a0the traditional section In the House that showcases domestic film titles. The section will bring two Slovak films Pirko<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Lucia a Petr Klein Svoboda) and Murderous Tales<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Jan Buben\u00ed\u010dek) in their Slovak premiere. Pirko<\/em><\/strong> tells a story of Martina, alias Shakira, who grew up in a children\u2019s home. Her ideas of the world were formed mainly by TV series and her 18th birthday is a ticket to her dream world. Murdeous Tales <\/strong>is darkly playful cross-genre film on heroism and death. The film consists of three tales that include a suspicious Mexican cactus inherited from grandpa, a miniature professor who opposes animal slaughter for scientific purposes, a duo of incompetent killers in a jalopy, and an incredibly stupid knight fighting a dragon.<\/p>\n

Another films introduced in this section are: I, Olga Hepnarov\u00e1<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Weinreb, Petr Kazda), Stanko<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Ras\u0165o Boro\u0161), mid-lenght films Genpatsu<\/em><\/strong> (dir. Lena Kr\u00e1likov\u00e1 Hashimoto) and Maybe Tomorrow <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Martina Nagyov\u00e1). In the House<\/em> will also include collection of student films from V\u0160MU<\/a> and AKU<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Family Film<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (dir. Olmo Omerzu) will be shown within the main competition Meeeting Point Europe and will vie with nine European films for the Meeting Point Europe Award.<\/p>\n

A part of the festival is also DOX IN VITRO<\/a>, an\u00a0international seminar and workshop for documentary films.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
