After a succesful first launch last year, the upcoming 24th MFFK Febiofest Bratislava<\/a>\u00a0will once again host a second edition of Industry Days (March 7 \u2013 8): a bright new event dedicated to the promotion of local film production as well as to meetings of Slovak and international film professionals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting in Rotterdam a few years ago when My Dog Killer<\/em><\/strong> by Mira Fornay won one of the main prizes in the official competition, then Director\u2019s Fortnight welcomed Blind Loves by Juraj Lehotsk\u00fd, Berlinale hosted Koza<\/strong><\/em> by Ivan Ostrochovsk\u00fd and Toronto introduced Eva Nova<\/em><\/strong> by Marko \u0160kop to international audiences in world premiere, just to name a few. But is it enough also for wider distribution? Laurent Danielu from French Sales Company Loco Films will present his experience of selling two very diverse Slovak titles \u2013 Eva Nova<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Marko \u0160kop and Little Harbour<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Iveta Gr\u00f3fov\u00e1 that has been world premiered just now at the Berlinale 2017 and received the Crystal Bear for the Best Film of Berlinale Generation Kplus section, awarded by the Children’s Jury.<\/p>\n

\nFilm societies or film clubs were funded in the 1960s in order to work closely with the public and help promoting auteur cinema in Europe. But does it still make sense today? Is it still a sustainable platform for cinematic distribution? How strong is the influence of Film clubs in contemporary Europe? We want to welcome representatives of French ACID, Polish Zuborffka, Association of Slovak Film Clubs and others in order to understand better how to use this old-fashioned system as an advantage for arthouse distribution.<\/p>\n
