A debut feature OUT <\/em><\/a>by Gy\u00f6rgy Krist\u00f3f has been selected for the Un Certain Regard at the jubilee 70th<\/sup> edition of Cannes IFF<\/a>\u00a0 (May 17 \u2013 28, 2017). The road movie of a tall, family man venturing through Eastern Europe in desperate attempt to get a job and fulfil his dream was made in Slovak-Hungarian-Czech co-production.

\n<\/em>The debut OUT<\/em><\/strong><\/a> follows \u00c1goston, a tall, family man in his fifties ventures through Eastern Europe in desperate attempt to get a job and fulfil his dream \u2013 to catch a big fish. His voyage leads him deeper and deeper into the ocean of bizarre events and encounters. Waves grind on sandy beaches and return to sea. New wave comes to wipe off the preceding one.<\/p>\n

The film is majority production of Slovak company sentimentalfilm<\/a> and was co-produced by Hungarian KMH Film Productions<\/a> and Czech endorfilm<\/a>. Screenwriter-director Gy\u00f6rgy Krist\u00f3f and producer Marek Urban participated with the film in the project Pitch & Feedback 2013, organized by Slovak Film Institute and the Czech Film Center in cooperation with Karlovy Vary IFF. The script was also developed within international programme MIDPOINT Feature Launch<\/a> 2013. After that the film was presented at several international platforms (New Cinema Network Rome, B’EST EAVE; Sofia Meetings) and in 2015 was pick for the prestigious Cin\u00e9fondation L’Atelier\u00a0organized in the framework of the Cannes IFF.<\/p>\n

The selection to Un Certain Regard qualified OUT<\/em><\/strong><\/a> to compete for the Cam\u00e9ra d’Or \u2013 an award for the best first feature film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
