The International Short Film Festival <\/a>Brno 16<\/a> (October 10 \u2013 13, 2018), one of the oldest short film festivals, will present a retrospective of Slovak animation and digitally restored documentaries from the collection of the National Film Archive of the Slovak Film Institute (SFI).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nejen sportovn\u00ed souboje<\/a> (More Than Sport Duels) is a selection of documentaries that portray unique atmosphere of sport events and performances. According to the motto of this year’s edition “It’s a fight<\/em>” the selection will present The Trophy from Basel<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Mikul\u00e1\u0161 Fedor, Osk\u00e1r \u0160\u00e1ghy) that shows the milestone of Slovak football team Slovan Bratislava. Director Milan \u010cern\u00e1k will attend the festival with his wife, editor Margita \u010cern\u00e1kov\u00e1 and introduce his two films in the selection. Documentary Hockey<\/a> of ’69<\/a><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong> depicts the moments of Ice Hockey World Championships in Sweden and the victory of Czechoslovak players against the Soviet team. In World Ski Championships <\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u010cern\u00e1k commemorates the most important Czechoslovak sport event of 1970 that took place in the High Tatras.<\/p>\n

The festival will also present a selection of short animated movies created in Slovakia since 1993. 25 years of Slovak Animation<\/a> consists of Steps, Leaps, Years… and the Last One Turns off the Light<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. collective), Lionardo Mio<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1), Invention in A minor for two voices<\/strong><\/a> <\/em>(dir. Vladim\u00edr Kr\u00e1l), In the Box<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Michal Struss), Viliam<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Veronika Obertov\u00e1), tWINs<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Peter Budinsk\u00fd), The Last Bus<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Ivana Lau\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1, Martin Snopek), The Pandas<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Mat\u00fa\u0161 Viz\u00e1r), Cowboyland<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. D\u00e1vid \u0160tumpf), Spirit of the City<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Andrej Kolen\u010d\u00edk, Veronika Kocourkov\u00e1), and Journey<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Marek Jasa\u0148).
