{"id":38107,"date":"2018-10-11T14:25:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T12:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=38107"},"modified":"2025-08-20T11:13:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T09:13:05","slug":"warsaw-2018","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/warsaw-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Ready to compete at Warsaw Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Three Slovak and co-production films will vie for the Warsaw Grand Prix at the <a href=\"https:\/\/wff.pl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">34th Warsaw Film Festival<\/a> (October 12 \u2013 21, 2018).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-band\/\"><em><strong>The Band<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Ladislav Kabo\u0161), documentary about the birth of the Romani band Lomnick\u00e9 \u010ch\u00e1ve will compete in Documentary Competition along with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/circus-rwanda\/\"><em>Circus Rwanda<\/em><\/a><\/strong> (dir. Michal Varga) that shows the clash of cultures by fusing two circus groups from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n<p>The Short Film Competition will introduce bachelor film <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/poetika-anima\/\"><em>Poetika Anima<\/em><\/a><\/strong> by Kriss Sagan. Non-narrative animated \ufb01lm is based on a lyrical poem created by the synthesis of the director\u2019s diary notes. <em>\u201eI decided to make a \u201esimple and nice\u201c film that will make me put all my free time and energy in. I wanted to enjoy the production process without having high expectations. I am not a good storyteller so I decided to focus on defining my auteur-signature and narrative style. It took a leap into the dark but now I can say it was a good decision. \u201c<\/em> said the director in an interview for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kinecko.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kine\u010dko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Slovakia will have its representative also in the <a href=\"https:\/\/wff.pl\/en\/wid\/warsaw-industry-days\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Industry section<\/a> of the festival.
