The sixth edition of Czech & Slovak Film Festival<\/a> that takes place on March 27 \u2013 31, 2019 in Sydney, Australia will showcase six Slovak feature films and five shorts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Audience will get to know a drama about guilt and punishment The Cellar<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Igor Voloshin) which internationally premiered at 23rd Busan IFF; an AI-went-wrong thriller Intimate Enemy<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Karel Jan\u00e1k), a Du\u0161an Rapo\u0161 fairy tale When Dragon Has a Headache<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a historical drama Jan Palach<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Robert Sedl\u00e1\u010dek), and Freedom<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>by German writer-director Jan Speckenbach which premiered at 70th Locarno Festival.<\/p>\n

Two digitally restored Slovak films will be screened, too: Martin Holl\u00fd\u2019s seminal work Signum Laudis<\/em><\/strong> and Peter Solan\u2019s short doc Only a Note of the Field Post<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Contemporary Slovak shorts will be represented by the award-winning film from both Clermont-Ferrand and Tampere The Last Bus<\/em><\/strong> by Martin Snopek and Ivana Lau\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1; Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1\u2019s Yellow<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>which was presented in Clermont-Ferrand and Annecy, as well as by two animations by young authors: Warsaw IFF entry Poetika Anima<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Kriss Sagan and Journey <\/em><\/strong>by Marek Jasa\u0148.<\/p>\n

The showcase is organized by Slovak ARINA<\/a> and Australian IKSIMA Films<\/a> with the Slovak Film Institute, Czech Film Centre<\/a>, National Film Archive<\/a>, Czech Centres<\/a>, and Aussie & Kiwi Film Fest <\/a>as partners and with support by Slovak Audiovisual Fund<\/a>, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic<\/a>, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic<\/a>, and The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Canberra<\/a>.<\/p>\n
