The Slovak Film and Television Academy<\/a> (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2019\u00a0on Friday, April 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most awarded film was\u00a0The Interpreter<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Martin \u0160ul\u00edk) which won six prizes including the one for Best Fiction Film. Documentarian Marek Kubo\u0161 won Best documentary for The Last Self-Portrait<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and directors Katar\u00edna Kerekesov\u00e1 and Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1 won Best Animation for the TV special Mimi & Lisa \u2013 Christmas Lights Mystery<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Multiple prizes went to filmmakers of\u00a0Toman<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Ond\u0159ej Trojan) which won in two categories \u2013 the Best Actress in a Supporting Role and the Best Costumes. Insect<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>by Jan \u0160vankmajer also received two Awards\u00a0in Best Film Sound and Best Art Direction categories. Audience Award won documentary An Extra Something<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by Palo Kadle\u010d\u00edk and Martin \u0160enc.<\/p>\n

The award for the outstanding contribution to Slovak cinema for this year went to the film scriptwriter, theatre, television and film director Ondrej \u0160ulaj.<\/p>\n

The ninth edition of Slovak National Film Award The Sun in a Net awarded 9 films of total 14 nominees.<\/p>\n
