{"id":38131,"date":"2019-04-09T14:26:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T12:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=38131"},"modified":"2025-08-20T17:09:40","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T15:09:40","slug":"finale-plzen-film-festival-2019","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/finale-plzen-film-festival-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Multiple Slovak films at 32nd Fin\u00e1le Plze\u0148 Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.festivalfinale.cz\/eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fin\u00e1le Plze\u0148 Film Festival<\/a> will show 16 Slovak films at its 32nd edition, four of which are up for prizes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two Slovak co-production films, Adam Sedl\u00e1k\u2019s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/domestique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Domestique<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>and Olmo Omerzu\u2019s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/winter-flies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winter Flies<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, are competing for Golden Kingfisher Award for the best feature live action or animated film, while <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/circus-rwanda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Circus Rwanda<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Michal Varga) and <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/occupation-1968\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Occupation 1968<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Evdokia Moskvina, Linda Dombrovszky, Maria Elisa Scheidt, Magda Szymk\u00f3w, Stephan Komandarev) are selected for documentary competition.<\/p>\n<p>Non-competitive section First Catch which showcase (pre-)premieres includes a new Peter Kerekes film <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/batastories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Batastories<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>and Teodor Kuhn\u2019s debut<strong> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/by-a-sharp-knife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">By a Sharp Knife<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will also screen latest documentary by Ladislav Kabo\u0161 <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-band\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Band<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, dance film <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/backstage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Backstage<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Andrea Sedl\u00e1\u010dkov\u00e1), and <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/intimate-enemy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intimate Enemy<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a tech thriller directed by Karel Jan\u00e1k. Minority co-productions are represented by Marek Najbrt\u2019s fairy tale <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-magic-quill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Magic Quill<\/strong><\/a><\/em><strong>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/talks-with-tgm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Talks with TGM<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jakub \u010cervenka), a docu-fiction about T.G.
