Next week, the Cinemath\u00e8que du Documentaire in Paris will screen Milan \u010cern\u00e1k&#8217;s medium length film <em>World Ski Championships<\/em> (1970) at Centre Pompidou.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seven short films will be presented in the selection titled Traces of Experiment in Slovak Short Films: <strong><em>Water and Work<\/em><\/strong> (1963) by Martin Slivka, <strong><em>Old Shatterhand Came to See Us<\/em><\/strong> (1966) by Du\u0161an Han\u00e1k, <em><strong>Switch<\/strong> <strong>Tower Hell<\/strong><\/em> (1967) by Vlado Kubenko, <strong><em>Crossroads<\/em> <\/strong>by Ladislav Kudelka, <strong><em>Photographing the House Dwellers<\/em><\/strong> (1968) by Du\u0161an Tran\u010d\u00edk, <em><strong>Eye<\/strong> <\/em>(1968) by Juraj Bindz\u00e1r, and<strong> <em>6,2<\/em> <\/strong>(1972) by Milan \u010cern\u00e1k. The selection is based on a program that was presented at the prestigious International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen last year on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the SFI and was shown in April by internationally renowned Kino Tu\u0161kanac in Zagreb.<\/p>\n<p>The showcase will also present three feature-length films: the groundbreaking work of Czechoslovak cinema, <strong><em>The Sun in the Net<\/em><\/strong> (1962) by \u0160tefan Uher and two films by Juraj Jakubisko. <strong><em>Birds, Orphans and Fools<\/em><\/strong> (1969) shows the world of violence, cynicism and hopelessness, and the tragicomedy <strong><em>Sitting on a Branch, I&#8217;m Fine<\/em><\/strong> (1989), tells the story of two friends and a homeless girl.<\/p>\n<p>The Czech-Slovak Film Days is organized by the The Slovenian Cinematheque, Slovak Film Institute (SFI) and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ljubljana and will be presented by Krist\u00edna Aschenbrennerov\u00e1 from the National Film Centre of the SFI.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, La Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que du Documentaire will present Slovak medium length film <strong><em>World Ski Championships<\/em><\/strong> (1970) by Milan \u010cern\u00e1k as part of the Plus Vite, plus haut, plus fort (Faster, Higher, Stronger) program dedicated to sport-related documentaries.
