{"id":38219,"date":"2020-01-16T15:27:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T14:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=38219"},"modified":"2025-09-05T15:04:35","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T13:04:35","slug":"iff-rotterdam-2020","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/iff-rotterdam-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Slovak Films at Internation Film Festival Rotterdam 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The 48th <a href=\"https:\/\/iffr.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IFF Rotterdam<\/a> (January 22 \u2013 February 2, 2020) will present three full-length Slovak films.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Perspectives section presents a six-hour film essay in four acts <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/communism-and-the-net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Communism and the Net or the End of Representative Democracy<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Karel Vachek), which explores the philosophical optics of the history of regimes and revolutions, leaders and martyrs. In Rotterdam, we can look forward to its international premiere.<\/p>\n<p>The international, but also world, premiere awaits also the second feature documentary <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/alchemical-furnace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alchemical Furnace<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jan Da\u0148hel, Adam O\u013eha) included in the Deep Focus section. The film is an exceptional portrait of one of the most original and at the same time internationally renowned representatives of Czech-Slovak cinema \u2013 director and artist Jan \u0160vankmajer, who already participated at IFF Rotterdam 2018 where he was a host in the Big Talk on the occasion of the world premiere of his film <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/insect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insect<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Alchemical Furnace<em> is shot on various film formats in combination with found footage. Playful and poetic, candid and with a touch of Czech humour, it is an ode to creation and to companionship<\/em>.&#8221; says IFF Rotterdam.<\/p>\n<p>The Slovak representation is closed by a feature film about the pathological jealousy in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/cook-fk-kill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cook, F**k, Kill<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir.
