The Karlovy Vary IFF presented<strong> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/let-there-be-light\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Let There Be Light<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Marko \u0160kop, V\u00e1clav Marhoul\u2019s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-painted-bird\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Painted Bird<\/a><\/em><\/strong> premiered in the Main Competition of the Venice IFF, and <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/charlatan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charlatan<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>by Agnieszka Holland had its premiere at the Berlin IFF. Jon\u00e1\u0161 Kar\u00e1\u0161ek\u2019s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/amnesty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amnesty<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>and Irena Pavl\u00e1skov\u00e1\u2019s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-prague-orgy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Prague Orgy<\/a><\/em><\/strong> will also vie for the Golden Grape Award.<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Documentary Film Competition will present feature debuts as well as documentaries of acclaimed filmmakers. <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/silent-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Silent Days<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Pavol Pekar\u010d\u00edk observes the lives of deaf children from Roma settlements, <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/never-happened\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Never Happened<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Barbora Berez\u0148\u00e1kov\u00e1 snoops around unresolved murder of R\u00f3bert Remi\u00e1\u0161, and\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/paradise-on-earth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paradise on Earth<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Jaro Vojtek captures a life of journalist and war photographer, Andrej B\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Lubuskie Film Summer cares about short films as well. A selection of five short films from the <a href=\"https:\/\/ftf.vsmu.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava<\/a> will be screened in the section European Film Schools, notably <strong><em>The Manifesto of Despise<\/em><\/strong> by Kristi\u00e1n Grupa\u010d, <strong><em>Trust Me<\/em><\/strong> by Zlata Golecov\u00e1, <em><strong>R + J<\/strong> <\/em>by Martina Buchelov\u00e1,<strong> <em>The Fire Report<\/em><\/strong> by Katar\u00edna Jonisov\u00e1 and <strong><em>The March<\/em><\/strong> by Michal Bla\u0161ko. Joanna Ko\u017cuch\u2019s animated <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/music-box\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Music Box<\/em><\/strong><\/a> will represent Slovak professional short film production.
