This year\u2019s edition of International Documentary Festival Fipadoc<\/a> in Biarritz, France is focusing on Visegrad countries. Festival\u2019s program includes two Slovak films while its Industry Days will present two Slovak works-in-progress, enable Slovak and French producers to meet and discuss their projects, and talk about documentary output and film industry in V4 countries. Industry Days run online on January 18 \u2013 22, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two Slovak projects will be presented at the International Pitch, one of the main activities of Industry Days: Tom\u00e1\u0161 Krupa\u2019s We Have to Survive<\/a><\/em><\/strong> about various effects the climate change is having on multiple locations on Earth; and Velvet Generation<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Ivana Huc\u00edkov\u00e1 on a search for identity with the backdrop of an emerging Czech and Slovak ballroom scene.<\/p>\n

The Producers meet producers program will enable producers from the Visegrad countries to meet producers from France and exchange about their documentary projects. Slovak participants are Matej Sotn\u00edk (Gu\u010da) a Maro\u0161 He\u010dko (Azyl Production).<\/p>\n

During five discussions the Industry Days will also explore the rich creative documentary landscape of the Visegrad countries. Jakub Viktor\u00edn will talk about co-producing with Slovakia, Peter Kerekes will discuss working with archival materials, Martin Kollar will be part of panel discussion on innovative documentaries, Eva Kri\u017ekov\u00e1 will map Slovak festivals and markets, and Ondrej Starinsk\u00fd will speak about TV stations.<\/p>\n

Even though Industry Days are happening as planned, all the festival screenings in Biarritz are postponed due to coronavirus restrictions in France. Two Slovak films will be part of the program: The Good Death<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Tom\u00e1\u0161 Krupa and The Band<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Ladislav Kabo\u0161. The later is also up for the Best music documentary award.<\/p>\n
