Vera Lackov\u00e1&#8217;s feature debut <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/how-i-became-a-partisan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How I Became a Partisan<\/a><\/em><\/strong> will world premiere in the Competition section.<\/p>\n<p>Documentary film <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/how-i-became-a-partisan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How I Became a Partisan<\/a><\/em><\/strong> investigates the fate of forgotten Roma partisans. The Roma director Vera Lackov\u00e1\u2019s search is based primarily upon the life-story of her great-grandfather, the Roma partisan J\u00e1n Lacko. The autobiographical quest brings the director closer to previously unpublished facts from Slovak history.<\/p>\n<p>The festival program includes two Slovak minority co-productions: the feature film <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/winter-flies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winter Flies<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Olmo Omerzu) in the Specials section and the documentary <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/once-upon-a-time-in-poland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Once Upon a Time in Poland<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir.
