\"\"Eleven Slovak films were selected for 62nd edition of Krakow Film Festival<\/a>, including two films presented in world premiere and one in European premiere. Another two Slovak projects are part of CEDOC Market. The festival takes place from May 29 to June 12, 2022 in Krakow cinemas and online.<\/strong><\/p>\n

International Documentary Competition will see four Slovak films. The Cathedral<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a feature debut by Denis Dobrovoda, follows a former monk who, for over sixty years and without help or architectural expertise, was building a cathedral near Madrid the size of Sagrada Familia. The film will be presented in world premiere \u2013 just as Igor Ivanko\u2019s debut Fragile Memory<\/a><\/em><\/strong> about director\u2019s grandfather, a celebrated Ukrainian cinematographer who is losing his memory. At Full Throttle<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Miro Remo) and Reconstruction of the Occupation<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Jan \u0160ikl) are up for the awards as well.<\/p>\n

Barbora Berez\u0148\u00e1kov\u00e1\u2019s short film Strigov<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, the last farewell to the beloved person and goodbye to the community of Ruthenian people, was selected for International Short Film Competition. Film will be presented in Krakow in European premiere just days after the world premiere at Docaviv. Love, Dad<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Diana Cam Van Nguyen is also part of short film competition.<\/p>\n

DocFilmMusic, an international competition for music documentaries, includes Lucie Kr\u00e1lov\u00e1\u2019s Kapr Code<\/a><\/em><\/strong> in the selection. Celebrated Slovak documentary director and producer Robert Kirchhoff is a member of the DocFilmMusic jury.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Krakow festival is highlighting Czech cinema. Czech Focus selection includes two Slovak films: On Your Marks!<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>By M\u00e1ria Pin\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 and Every Single Minute<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Erika Hn\u00edkov\u00e1. Petr Oukropec\u2018s Martin and the Magical Forest<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and Even Mice Belong in Heaven<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Denisa Grimmov\u00e1, Jan Buben\u00ed\u010dek will be shown in Kids&Youth section.<\/p>\n

Two Slovak project will try to find new partners at CEDOC Market<\/a> \u2013 Central European Documentary Co-Production Market: Fakir<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, a feature debut by Roman \u010euri\u0161, and I Love Generals<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by V\u00edt Jane\u010dek.<\/p>\n

Slovak Film Institute is a partner of Krakow Film Festival and will organize a networking event for film professionals to highlight Slovak films and filmmakers who are present at the festival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
