The 35th edition of the Fin\u00e1le Plze\u0148 Festival<\/a> (September 23 \u2013 28, 2022) will present 24 Slovak films, of which 9 within the competition sections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The successful Slovak films 107 Mothers<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Peter Kerekes) and Victim<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>(dir. Michal Bla\u0161ko) will vie for the Golden Kingfisher in the Feature Live Action or Animated Films Competition. Likewise other Slovak minority coproductions Il Boemo<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Petr V\u00e1clav), The Word<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Beata Parkanov\u00e1), Buko<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Alice Nellis) and the animated feature film Even Mice Belong in Heaven<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Denisa Grimmov\u00e1, Jan Buben\u00ed\u010dek).<\/p>\n

The Documentary Films Competition will present films Housing Against Everyone<\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hlav\u00e1\u010dek) and How I Become a Partisan<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Vera Lackov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

The pilot of the Slovak TV series Ultimatum<\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Michal Koll\u00e1r) will compete in the Feature and Mini-serial TV and Internet Production Competition.<\/p>\n

In the non-competitive First Catch section, dedicated to premieres and pre-premieres, will present the new releases Ordinary Failures<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Cristina Grosan) and Michael Koc\u00e1b<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Olga Sommerov\u00e1) and The Nightsiren<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Tereza Nvotov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

The In the Nets2021-22 section will feature drama Arved<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Vojt\u011bch Ma\u0161ek), comedy Indian<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>(dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Svoboda, Vladim\u00edr Kri\u0161ko) and Perfect Strangers<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Zuzana Mariankov\u00e1), thriller Shadowplay<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Peter Bebjak), fairy tale The Enchanted Cave<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Mariana \u010cengel Sol\u010dansk\u00e1), wild-life film Wild Prague<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Jan Ho\u0161ek), an animated film Journey to Yourland<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Peter Budinsk\u00fd) and short TV special Mimi & Lisa \u2013 Garden<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Ivana \u0160ebestov\u00e1, Katar\u00edna Kerekesov\u00e1).<\/p>\n

Czech Traces section we also find Slovak minority co-production Absence<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Ali Mosaffa). The Special Feature section will screen animated shorts Love, Dad<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Diana Cam Van Nguyen) and Suzie in the Garden<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Lucie Sunkov\u00e1). Slovak minority coproduction Wild Roots<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Hajni Kis), will be presented in the ZOOM section, which this year focuses on Hungary.<\/p>\n
