\"\"The Slovak representation at the 49th edition of the Summer Film School Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161te<\/a> (July 28 \u2013 August 3, 2023) will be even richer than usually. Seventeen Slovak feature films, four short student films, and four films by Miloslav Luther, who is this year\u2019s guest of the LF\u0160, will be screened.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shortly after their premiere at Karlovy Vary IFF, multiple Slovak films travel to Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161te as well: All Men Become Brothers<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Robert Kirchhoff), A Sensitive Person<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Klein), Brutal Heat<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Albert Hospod\u00e1\u0159sk\u00fd), Snake Gas<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. David Ja\u0159ab), as well as the opening film Restore Point<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Robert Hloz) and the closing film We Have Never Been Modern<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Met\u011bj Chlup\u00e1\u010dek).<\/p>\n

The New Czech and Slovak Films section also includes historical dramas The Chambermaid<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Mariana \u010cengel Sol\u010dansk\u00e1), The Ballad of Piargy<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Ivo Trajkov) and Il Boemo<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Petr V\u00e1clav), the documentary Good Old Czechs<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Bojar), the first fiction film by Zuzana Piussi Unbalanced<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, as well as Michal Bla\u0161ko\u2019s award-winning debut Victim<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. Bla\u0161ko will also give A Filmmaker’s Journey masterclass at the festival.<\/p>\n

The films Grand Prix<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Jan Pru\u0161inovsk\u00fd), Invalid<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Jon\u00e1\u0161 Kar\u00e1sek), and Buko<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Alice Nellis) will be shown in the Open Air Cinema. The Slovak-Hungarian full-length animation White Plastic Sky<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (d. Tibor B\u00e1n\u00f3czki, Sarolta Szab\u00f3) will be shown within the A\u010cFK Distibuce section.<\/p>\n

The films Rave to the Grave<\/strong> <\/em>(dir. Vladim\u00edr Horn\u00edk), Homeland of Silence<\/strong><\/em> (dir. \u0160tef\u00e1nia Lovasov\u00e1), No Elements<\/strong> (dir. Barbara Vojta\u0161\u00e1kov\u00e1) and Monika Mah\u00fatov\u00e1\u2019s Standing Still<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (Future Frames, KVIFF 2023) togehter create the Selection of Short Slovak Student Films.<\/p>\n

Slovak director Miloslav Luther is guest of the festival and on this occasion, the festival will screen 4 of his films: A Path Across Danube<\/strong><\/em> (1989), Escape to Buda<\/strong><\/em> (2002), Mosquitoes\u2019 Tango<\/strong><\/em> (2009) and A Step Into the Dark<\/strong><\/em> (2014). He will also give a masterclass.<\/p>\n

Ivan Trojan, the main protagonist of Charlatan<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Agnieszka Holland), which premiered at the Berlinale 2020, is also a guest of the festival.<\/p>\n

Children can look forward to the Kids\u2019 Film Cabinet, prepared by the Association of Slovak Film Clubs.<\/p>\n
