{"id":41468,"date":"2024-05-23T12:10:24","date_gmt":"2024-05-23T10:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=41468"},"modified":"2024-05-24T10:48:22","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T08:48:22","slug":"zlin-film-festival-2024","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/zlin-film-festival-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Slovak films are heading to the festival for children and youth in Zl\u00edn 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 64th <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zlinfest.cz\/-en\/\">International Film Festival for Children and Youth<\/a><\/strong>, known as the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zlinfest.cz\/-en\/\">Zl\u00edn Film Festival<\/a><\/strong>, is set to take place from May 30 to June 5, 2024. As the world&#8217;s oldest film festival of its kind, it will feature fifteen Slovak films, including feature films, short films, and student films. Among these, five Slovak films will be competing in various sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, the festival&#8217;s <em>International Competition of Student Films Zl\u00edn Dog<\/em>, receives over 2000 submissions. This year, three Slovak films have been selected for the competition. The selected films include the documentary <strong>Poisoned Well<\/strong> (d. Radek \u0160ev\u010d\u00edk) and the animated film <strong>Dream Rotation<\/strong> (d. Katar\u00edna Jel\u00ednkov\u00e1, Darya Sidorova, Vikt\u00f3ria Zimmermannov\u00e1, Rebeka Vakr\u010dkov\u00e1). Both films were produced by the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (V\u0160MU). Additionally, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/electra\/\">Electra<\/a><\/strong>, directed by Daria Kashcheeva and previously featured at Cannes Film Festival in the <em>La Cinef<\/em> section, has been selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <em>International Competition of Short Animations for Children (up to 12 years of age)<\/em>, two Slovak films will be screened. These include <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/everything-we-missed\/\">Everything We Missed<\/a><\/strong>, directed by Marta Prokopov\u00e1, which explores the rediscovery of bond between a woman and her dog during the pandemic, and <strong>Bobo<\/strong>, directed by Veronika Obertov\u00e1, created for a special kindergarten for children with visual impairments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival will also showcase <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/kaytek-the-wizard\/\">Kaytek the Wizard<\/a><\/strong>, directed by Magdalena Lazarkiewicz, in the <em>World Children&#8217;s Film Panorama<\/em> section. This section highlights recent award-winning titles for children and young people from other festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, new Slovak films will be featured in the New Czech Films and TV Programmes section, including <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/annaismissing\/\">#annaismissing<\/a><\/strong> (d. Pavel Soukup), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/waltzing-matilda\/\">Waltzing, Matilda<\/a> <\/strong>(d. Petr Slav\u00edk), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/dry-season\/\">Dry Season<\/a><\/strong> (d. Bohdan Sl\u00e1ma), <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/photophobia\/\"><strong>Photophobia<\/strong> <\/a>(d. Ivan Ostrochovsk\u00fd, Pavol Pekar\u010d\u00edk), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/i-dont-love-you-anymore\/\">I Don&#8217;t Love You Anymore<\/a><\/strong> (d. Zden\u011bk Jir\u00e1sk\u00fd) and <strong>Three Golden Ducats<\/strong> (d. Mariana \u010cengel Sol\u010dansk\u00e1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival&#8217;s <em>Open-Air Cinema<\/em> will entertain audiences with popular hits such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/teambuilding\/\">We&#8217;re Going to Teambuilding<\/a><\/strong> (d. Zuzana Mariankov\u00e1), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/space-frank\/\">Space Frank<\/a><\/strong> (d. Rudolf Havl\u00edk) and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-last-aristocrat-2\/\">The Last Aristocrat 2<\/a><\/strong> (d.
