{"id":45836,"date":"2025-01-29T07:59:09","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T06:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/?post_type=novinka&#038;p=45836"},"modified":"2026-01-19T14:20:47","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T13:20:47","slug":"ecfa-2025","status":"publish","type":"novinka","link":"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/ecfa-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Slovak Films Nominated for European Children\u2019s Film Association Prizes 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The European Children\u2019s Film Association (ECFA) will honor the best films of 2024 during Berlinale in three categories, and among the nominees are two Slovak co-productions \u2013 the stop-motion feature film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/living-large\/\">Living Large<\/a><\/em> by Kristina Dufkov\u00e1 and the short film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/my-name-is-edgar-and-i-have-a-cow\/\">My Name Is Edgar and I Have a Cow<\/a><\/em> by Filip Diviak. The winners, who will be announced on February 15, 2025, during the children\u2019s film community gathering in Berlin, are chosen by ECFA members. These awards are the only European children\u2019s film prizes decided by industry professionals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, 13 titles are competing in the feature film category, 12 titles in the short film category, and 6 titles in the documentary category. The short film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/my-name-is-edgar-and-i-have-a-cow\/\"><strong>My Name Is Edgar and I Have a Cow<\/strong><\/a><\/em> tells the story of Edgar, a boy who, during a field trip to a slaughterhouse, discovers a newborn calf that profoundly changes his otherwise ordinary life. Edgar decides to take the calf home to save it from its inevitable fate as food, but as the calf grows up and starts destroying things dear to Edgar, his life is turned upside down. The film won the ECFA Short Film Award at the International Children&#8217;s and Youth Film Festival in Oulu, Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second nominated film, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/living-large\/\"><strong>Living Large<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, follows the story of 12-year-old Ben, who is navigating puberty while facing bullying and weight issues. His passion for food and budding talent as a chef are important to him, yet he decides to go on a diet to fit in and win the heart of his crush, Kl\u00e1ra.
