The ceremonial announcement of the national film awards The Sun in a Net for the year 2024 will take place on April 16, 2025, at the Slovak Radio premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A record-breaking total of 49 film and television works were submitted. Fourteen films were submitted in the Best Fiction Film category, 15 films in the Best Documentary Film category, 5 films in the Best Animation category, and 8 audiovisual works in the Best Television Film \/ Miniseries \/ Series category. A new addition is the Best Short Fiction or Documentary Film category, for which creators submitted 7 works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The films <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/waves\/\"><strong>Waves <\/strong><\/a><\/em>(nominated in 14 categories) and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-hungarian-dressmaker\/\"><strong>The Hungarian Dressmaker<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (nominated in 12 categories) received the most attention from the Slovak Film and Television Academy. The film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/the-dormant-account\/\"><strong>The Dormant Account<\/strong><\/a><\/em> received seven nominations. All three films are also nominated in the Best Fiction Film category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nominees for Best Documentary Film are <em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/czechoslovak-architecture-58-89\/\"><strong>Czechoslovak Architecture 58\u201389<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/em> (dir. Jan Zaj\u00ed\u010dek), <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/ms-president\/\"><strong>Ms. President<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Marek \u0160ul\u00edk), and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/wishing-on-a-star\/\"><strong>Wishing on a Star<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Peter Kerekes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Best Animation category, the feature film <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/living-large\/\"><strong>Living Large<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Kristina Dufkov\u00e1) and the short films <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/free-the-chickens\/\">Free the Chickens<\/a><\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Mat\u00fa\u0161 Viz\u00e1r) and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/hello-summer\/\"><strong>Hello Summer<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dirs.
