In Australia, the 13th edition of the Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia<\/a> (CaSFFA) has begun and this year it is taking place in three cities: Brisbane joins Melbourne and Adelaide.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Melbourne (October 9\u201319), all of the films from the festival line-up will be screened. The festival opens with the successful film Caravan<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Zuzana Kirchnerov\u00e1), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The program includes also another acclaimed feature by Katar\u00edna Gramatov\u00e1, Promise I’ll be Fine<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (Tokyo IFF 2024). Following are audience favorites such as Waves<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Ji\u0159\u00ed M\u00e1dl) and Ducho\u0148<\/em> <\/a><\/strong>(dir. Peter Bebjak). The Australian premiere of the psychological drama Year of the Widow<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Veronika Li\u0161kov\u00e1) will also be presented. The list of feature films is rounded off with the fairy tales Fichtelberg<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. \u0160imon Koudela) and Princess Goldenhair<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Jan T\u011b\u0161itel).
Among the documentaries, Australian audiences can look forward to the premieres of the World Between Us<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Marie Dvo\u0159\u00e1kov\u00e1) and Chronicle<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Martin Kollar).
The program concludes with a short fiction Hot Flush<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Hana Han\u010dinov\u00e1), screened as part of the Shifting Currents: Student Shorts section.
There is an additional program at The Melbourne Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que, showcasing five Czechoslovak film classics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adelaide will host three days of screenings. On October 30, Caravan<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/em> will open the local showcase. On Sunday, November 2, audiences can look forward to the fairy tale Princess Goldenhair<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. On November 8, two Czech films will be screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caravan<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/em> arrives in Brisbane on November 14. The next day, the audience can enjoy Princess Goldenhair<\/a><\/strong><\/em> <\/em> and the documentary World Between Us<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/em>. The 2025 edition of the festival wraps up on November 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
