The 68th edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dok-leipzig.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DOK Leipzig<\/a> takes place from October 27 to November 2, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/better-go-mad-in-the-wild\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Better Go Mad in the Wild<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, directed and produced by Miro Remo, continues its successful festival run at one of the oldest documentary festivals in the world. Its magical look at the lives of twins with different personalities living alone in the \u0160umava forests will compete for an award in the Audience Competition. The film has already <a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/news\/kviff-better-go-mad-in-the-wild\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">won<\/a> the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary IFF and, in addition to Leipzig, will soon be presented at the Ji.hlava IDFF, the Festival dei popoli in Florence or the IDFA in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniela Meressa Rusnokova\u2019s feature debut <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/grey-zone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Grey Zone<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (pictured), a film essay, a personal story, a tribute to mothers and families of premature babies, at-risk newborns, and vulnerable disadvantaged people, will be screened in the Doc Alliance Award section. The film won several awards at last year\u2019s festival in Jihlava and was presented at MoMA Doc Fortnight in New York and Movies That Matter in The Hague, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Slovak Film Institute is a partner of the special program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dok-leipzig.de\/en\/programm\/events#5x5-shorts-from-the-east\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5&#215;5 Shorts from the East<\/a> for the fourth time. It is a continuous screening of 25 short films from Central and Eastern Europe, this year from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia. The festival audience can see the films <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/criss-cross\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Criss Cross<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Nina Ryb\u00e1rov\u00e1, Tom\u00e1\u0161 Ryb\u00e1r), <em><strong>forests and coasts near zingst<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Peter Podolsk\u00fd), <em><strong>Neptune<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Tereza Dodokov\u00e1), <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/poisoned-well\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Poisoned Well<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Radek \u0160ev\u010d\u00edk), and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sfu.sk\/en\/films\/rosso-papavero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Rosso Papavero<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (dir. Martin Smatana).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three upcoming films will be looking for new partnerships at the festival. The DOK Co-Pro Market will feature <em><strong>The Chef Suffragette<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Magdalena Szymk\u00f3w) and <em><strong>Sisters<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Tereza Bern\u00e1tkov\u00e1), both co-produced by Peter Kerekes on Slovak side.
