The program of the 35th Cottbus Film Festival (November 4 \u2013 9) will feature ten new and upcoming Slovak films.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the feature film section, the co-production Summer School, 2001<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Du\u017ean Duong) will compete, while in the Youth Film U18 Competition the Slovak-majority film Promise, I\u2019ll Be Fine<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Katar\u00edna Gramatov\u00e1, pictured), along with the co-productions Broken Voices<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Ond\u0159ej Provazn\u00edk) and Caravan<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Zuzana Kirchnerov\u00e1), will vie for the jury\u2019s favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-competitive section Hits will showcase some of the most-watched titles since the founding of the Slovak Republic: MIKI<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and \u010cern\u00e1k<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, both directed by Jakub Kroner. Among the ten films in the Ecoeast section is the short animated film Free the Chickens<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Mat\u00fa\u0161 Viz\u00e1r), which humorously portrays the hypocrisy of eco-activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For children, four films will be screened at the festival, including the feature-length animated film Living Large<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Kristina Dufkov\u00e1), which premiered last year at the Annecy festival. Finally, the Cottbus Masters section, showcasing works by directors who have previously presented at the festival and achieved international recognition, will give German audiences a chance to discover the story of the iconic Slovak singer through Ducho\u0148<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, directed by Peter Bebjak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the connecting cottbus<\/a> industry program (November 5\u20137), the upcoming feature film Attention Whores<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, currently being developed by director Alica Bedn\u00e1rikov\u00e1 at the La R\u00e9sidence screenwriting workshop in Paris, will be presented among the projects selected for cocoPITCH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
