At the 79th edition of Festival de Cannes (May 12 \u2013 23, 2026), Slovakia will be represented at the March\u00e9 du Film (May 12 \u2013 20, 2026) across three different programmes, as well as in the Producers on the Move programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming feature fiction film Attention Whores<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by debut director Alice Bedn\u00e1rikov\u00e1 will be presented at a pitching session, the culmination of the screenwriting workshop La R\u00e9sidence. As part of Cannes Docs \u2013 Docs-in-Progress, the documentary film Sisters<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by director Tereza Bern\u00e1tkov\u00e1 will be presented. Read more<\/a><\/strong> about this Czech-Slovak-French co-production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry<\/strong><\/a> market catalogue, three Slovak co-produced short films will be included: the student documentary How to Listen to Fountains<\/a><\/strong><\/em> directed by Eva Sajanov\u00e1, Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe!<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by animator Andrea Szelesov\u00e1, and a triptych of films presented under the title Forms of Silence<\/em> (screening on May 20 at 13:00, Palais F), comprising three short dance-experimental films: Aftermath of Silence<\/em><\/a><\/strong> (dir. Juraj Kr\u00e9n), Circle Within Us<\/strong><\/em> (dir. Lucia Juklov\u00e1), and Relics<\/em> <\/strong>(dir. Maro\u0161 Pul\u0161\u010d\u00e1k).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accredited participants of the March\u00e9 du Film can also watch three Slovak co-produced fairy tales at the market screenings<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the 22nd time, the Slovak Republic will have its representation at the March\u00e9 du Film within the joint Slovak and Czech pavilion (No. 139, Village International). The Slovak Film Institute will ensure the presentation of Slovak audiovisual works at the stand while also providing a space for meetings of Slovak film professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation of Slovak cinema at the March\u00e9 du Film in Cannes is organised by the Slovak Film Institute with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic<\/a> and the Slovak Film Agency<\/a>, the organisational unit of the Audiovisual Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
