This year again, the programme of the 66th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth Zl\u00edn Film Festival<\/a> (28 May \u2013 3 June 2026) will include several Slovak co-productions for children and young audiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Competition of Feature Films in the Children\u2019s Category will host the world premiere of The Crystal Planet<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, directed by Arsen Anton Ostoji\u0107 and produced as a Czech-Croatian-Slovak co-production. The International Competition of Feature Films in the Youth Category will present the drama Flood<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Martin Gonda, the title that received the highest number of awards at the national film awards Sun in a Net. In the International Competition of Short Animations for Children (up to 12 years old), the film Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe!<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Slovak animator Andrea Szelesov\u00e1 will compete for the Golden Slipper Award. The International Competition of Student Films Zl\u00edn Dog also includes a strong Slovak presence, with three films selected for the programme: How to Listen to Fountains<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Eva Sajanov\u00e1, The Sign of P<\/a>o<\/a>wer<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (dir. Ema \u0160arlota Hor\u00e1\u010dkov\u00e1), and First Patrol<\/strong><\/em>, directed by Vojt\u011bch Kone\u010dn\u00fd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-competitive section World Panorama of Children\u2019s Film will include Extraordinary<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by directing duo Marina Andree \u0160kop and Vanda Ra\u00fdmanov\u00e1, which had its world premiere at Sweden\u2019s BUFF Malm\u00f6 festival. The strongest presence of Slovak co-productions will be found in the section New Czech Films and TV Programmes, where festival audiences will see the fairy tale Princess Stella<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Miloslav \u0160m\u00eddmajer), the biographical documentary The Invisible Jan Gogola<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Marek Jani\u010d\u00edk), the award-winning drama Promise, I’ll Be Fine<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (dir. Katar\u00edna Gramatov\u00e1), and the drama Summer School, 2001<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Du\u017ean Duong. Finally, the Top Teen Seven section will present #AnnaIsMissing<\/a><\/em><\/strong> directed by Pavel Soukup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the industry programme ZLINFEST PRO, three Slovak film professionals will participate in two panel discussions. Director Michal Bla\u0161ko will join Du\u017ean Duong for the Meet the Next Generation discussion, while Veronika Kov\u00e1\u010d (researcher and PhD candidate at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism) and Barbora N\u00e1merov\u00e1 (screenwriter of the miniseries Monyov\u00e1<\/em>) will share their perspectives in a debate on the legal and ethical boundaries of films inspired by true events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
