The collections are divided into Slovak and foreign collections and they serve solely for study purposes. There is one exception \u2013 those works over which the SFI exerts producer rights; copies of these works can also be provided to the lay public for non-commercial purposes and for an appropriate fee. The Mediath\u00e8que also makes available to the public those audiovisual works acquired under the Act on Compulsory Copies and works supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. In this regard, it collaborates with distribution companies, producers and publishers of DVDs and Blu-ray discs. The Mediath\u00e8que also archives DVDs and VHS published by the SFI. It provides for the transcription onto DVD for those interested in Slovak films over which the SFI exerts rights and which have not yet been issued on DVD in accordance with the conditions specified in the Loan Regulations of the SFI\u2019s National Film Archive. A screening room for two persons also forms part of the Mediath\u00e8que. It is used for screening films that are not available for loan outside of the SFI premises.
