Synopsis
Agave appears as a simple story of four protagonists – the old doctor Varga, the builder Hampel, his young wife Nadja, and the young teacher Daniel Orešanský; however, it unfolds a powerful psychological study of various characters. The story is set in the hot, dry summer of 1947. Somewhere between the scorching air and the human destinies, one can foresee the colossal and horrific turning-point of February 1948. The protagonists endeavor to conceal their agony for a long time. But once their torments and ardent emotions come to the surface, they are like a volcanic eruption.
