Synopsis
Film about T. G. Masaryk and Karel Čapek, two extraordinary men, the best that ever lived in our country; about the fact that the First Czechoslovak Republic, which they symbolised, had a deep content and meaning in terms of its underlying concepts. But also about the fact that emotions can sometimes be stronger than an idea, even in the case of exceptional people. The film also reflects on the relation between literature and life: that the first reflects the latter, but that in no way is it to be taken for granted. To ascertain one’s inner truth is the most difficult thing in the world.
