The 79th Venice International Film Festival (31 August – 10 September 2022) will present the world premiere of Michal Blaško’s feature-length debut Victim in the Orizzonti competition. In addition, the Slovak minority co-production Ordinary Failures, directed by Cristina Grosan, will premiere within the Giornate degli Autori sidebar.

The prestigious Locarno Film Festival (3 – 13 August 2022) will present for the first time ever four Slovak films in their world premiere. In addition to these, Slovak cinema will also be represented in the non-competitive programme for kids.

The 48th edition of the Summer Film School Uherské Hradiště (29 July – 4 August 2022) has prepared a colourful programme and traditionally includes many Slovak films and co-productions. In addition to the new releases, the screen will feature a classic from the collections of the National Film Archive of the SFI Beware…! (1946) directed by Martin Frič.

Eleven Slovak films were selected for 62nd edition of Krakow Film Festival, including two films presented in world premiere and one in European premiere. Another two Slovak projects are part of CEDOC Market. The festival takes place from May 29 to June 12, 2022 in Krakow cinemas and online.

The 62nd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth Zlín Film Festival (26 May – 1 June 2022) will present a total of 276 films from 49 countries. A strong Slovak representation includes two animated feature films.

Alica Bednáriková’s Liquid Bread premieres at the 75th edition of the Festival de Cannes, in La Cinef selection.
