In 2017, Michal Blaško introduced his bachelor degree film Atlantis, 2003 in the Cinéfondation section of the 70th Festival de Cannes. Now he is back to present his upcoming feature debut Victim in L’Atelier, together with producer Jakub Viktorín.

Every year, Anifilm International Festival of Animated Film presents current trends, methods, technologies and animation techniques in its programme. This edition (May 7 – 12, 2019) will also introduce several Slovak and co-production films to the festival audience within different programme sections, while two projects in development will be presented at the CEE Animation Forum.
On April 30, 2019 the internationally renowned Kino Tuškanac in Zagreb will screen Pictures of the Old World by Dušan Hanák and a program of Slovak experimental documentary shorts made in 1960s and 1970s.
Finále Plzeň Film Festival will show 16 Slovak films at its 32nd edition, four of which are up for prizes.
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2019 on Friday, April 5. The most awarded film was The Interpreter (d. Martin Šulík) which won six prizes including the one for Best Fiction Film. Documentarian Marek Kuboš won Best documentary for The Last Self-Portrait and directors Katarína Kerekesová and Ivana Šebestová won Best Animation for the TV special Mimi & Lisa – Christmas Lights Mystery.
