Once again, Lubuskie Film Summer in Lagow (June 24 – July 1, 2018), International Film Festival of Central and Eastern European Cinema will introduce a wide range of Slovak films to Polish audiences. Nine films will be presented in tree competiton sections, and many more will be screened in the non-competition programme.
The 26th edition of Art Film Fest (June 15 – 23, 2018) has prepared an appealing programme with a number of Slovak films. International film festival will present contemporary Slovak cinema mainly within Slovak Season section, archive films will commemorate events of great significance and historical milestones as the 100th anniversary of The Founding of Czechoslovakia and a major figure of Slovak filmmaker Fero Fenič as well.
The main topic of 58th Zlín Film Festival for children and youth (May 25 – June 2, 2018) will be the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. The celebration will be reflected in multiple programme sections that will show a number of contemporary, as well as archive Slovak films.
5th edition of Czech and Slovak film festival Czech-In (May 18 – 23, 2018) will commemorate the 100th anniversary of founding Czechoslovakia by screening of five Slovak and co-production films in Christine 21 Cinema, Paris.
Fifth edition of touring Czech & Slovak Film Festival in Australia is heading to its last stop. After the screenings in Melbourne, Canberra and Perth, festival will take a place in Sydney (May 16 – 20, 2018) and will introduce seven feature and six short films.
International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (May 3 – 8, 2018), one of the world’s most respected short film events, will present a programme of six Slovak archive shorts entitled Traces of Experiment in Slovak Short Film.
International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm in Třeboň, Czech Republic (May 1 – 6, 2018) will introduce work of multiple generations of Slovak animators. The festival will also host a platform for film professionals Visegrad Animation Forum.
The 31st edition of the film festival Finále Plzeň (April 19 – 24, 2018) brings a programme full of Slovak films. The international jury will select the best films in three categories and choose the winners of the Golden Kingfisher Award.
The 18th edition of Film Festival goEast (April 18 – 24, 2018) will present a sample of Central and Eastern European Cinema to German audience. Czech-Slovak co-production Ice Mother by Bohdan Sláma is selected for Competition and creative documentary Occupation1968, produced by Slovak documentarian Peter Kerekes will be introduced in world premiere.
