Synopsis
The Thespian is a film about an actor who has been performing in the theatre since the age of six and continues to act today at eighty-four – a lifetime spent playing roles of all kinds, roles he had to learn to love in order to portray them truthfully. He has always been, and remains, a “servant” of the theatre. Through the life of Slovak actor Jan Mistrík, the film reflects key events in Slovakia over the past 80 years and the exceptional role of theater in society.
