The Slovak Film Institute is a member or partner of several international and domestic organizations.

The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) has been dedicated to the protection and dissemination of the world’s film heritage since 1938. Its member institutions rescue, collect, preserve, make accessible, and present film works that are not only artistic and cultural artifacts, but also historical documents. The association unites more than 170 institutions in almost 80 countries around the world.

The Association of European Cinematheques (ACE) brings together 51 European national and regional film archives. ACE was founded in 1991. Its main objectives are: to guarantee the survival of Europe’s film heritage while ensuring and enhancing its lasting visibility on cinema screens and through digital technologies.

European Film Promotion (EFP) is an international organization focused on supporting the international distribution of European cinema. It brings together 38 film institutions and centers representing 37 European countries; the Slovak representative is the Slovak Film Institute. EFP was founded in 1997 with the aim of promoting films at key film festivals and markets, creating a tradition of regular events to promote European cinema and its telents within selected film festivals and markets, and promoting and supporting young talents of European cinema. The organization’s largest projects in Europe include European Shooting Stars at the Berlinale, Producers on the Move in Cannes and Future Frames at the Karlovy Vary IFF.

The European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), based in Strasbourg, is an institution that was established on the platform of the Council of Europe in 1992. The main task of the organization is to collect relevant data, information, and statistics from the field of the audiovisual market – legislation, production, and distribution, to process them and distribute them in various forms and formats to its member countries, institutions as well as other (including commercial) entities. The EAO currently has 40 member states from the Council of Europe, Morocco and the European Commission as an extraordinary member.

The Slovak Library Association (SAK) was established with the aim of supporting the development and cooperation of libraries and emphasizing their importance and place in society.

The Slovak Audiovisual Producers’ Association (SAPA) is an independent, non-profit organization that unites and represents producers of audiovisual works or administrators of the rights of producers of audiovisual works (producers of Slovak films), i.e. owners or administrators of copyrights for more than 90% of all feature films and films intended primarily for distribution in cinemas produced in Slovakia from 1921 to the present day. SAPA members own or administer copyrights for more than 8,000 Slovak audiovisual works.

Cineuropa is an online information portal that promotes cinema and culture worldwide. The website is updated daily in four languages (English, French, Italian, and Spanish) and is designed for both industry professionals and wider audiences. Since 2018, the Slovak Film Institute collaborates with Cineuropa on regular and comprehensive news servise about the Slovak audiovisual industry. Slovak section on Cineuropa was financially supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.

Film New Europe (FNE) is aan online information portal that provides up-to-date information about film culture of the Central and Eastern European region, i.e. the countries of “new Europe”. The Slovak Film Institute with the support of the domestic professional environment established a cooperation with the FNE portal with aim to provide high-quality portals, extensive and objective about Slovak cinema. Slovak section on Film New Europe was financially supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.
