Synopsis
Amid the fields in the rolling landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands stands a decaying house. Its new and only inhabitant is Martin (David Švehlík), who has left the city to rediscover a lost sense of direction. However, when the mysterious Agnes (Judit Pecháček) appears on his doorstep, his closed-off world begins to fall apart. As the landscape resists and an ancient danger hidden in the soil awakens, Martin must restore the place’s lost memory to save Agnes, the land, and himself. Wirbel, the feature-length debut of director Tomáš Hubáček, is a hypnotic story about the power of the landscape, forgotten folk wisdom, and the search for a true home
