The 14th Fest Anča International Animation Festival (1 – 4 July 2021) will take place online for the first time. The organizers have prepared a program with a significant representation of Slovak animated works including a special screening of the digitally restored film The Bloody Lady (1980).
The Pop Up Film Residency Bratislava has resumed its activities, including the Slovak Pop Up. After the First consultation in April, the iniciative accommodates three more Slovak projects in development in May.
Taking place online, the 2021 First Cut Lab Slovakia will consult two feature-length Slovak projects: The Nightsiren by Tereza Nvotová and Power by Mátyás Prikler. The workshops will be followed by a webinar, details will be announced later.
The sixth edition of the Slovak Film Week film (20 – 26 October 2020) will take place in an abbreviated virtual form as a result of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The prepared accompanying events – discussion panels, seminars or discussions – are postponed to a later date due to the precarious situation during the emergency.
The 15th Cinematik International Film Festival (September 10 – 15, 2020) will explore Polish cinema, although many Slovak films will be presented as well. Non-competitive section In the House dedicated to Slovak cinema will present a selection of new feature-length and short films. Slovak documentaries that premiered during the period of one year before the festival will compete within Cinematik.doc.
The 13th International Animation Festival Fest Anča, which takes place from August 27 to August 30, 2020, will once again offer a rich Slovak representation.
International Film Festival Cinematik (September 10 – 15, 2019) will explore the cinema of Portugal, although many Slovak films will be presented as well. Non-competitive section In the House dedicated to Slovak cinema will present a selection of new feature-length and short films. Slovak documentaries that premiered during the period of one year before the festival will compete within Cinematik.doc.
International Animation Festival in Žilina will present almost 30 Slovak films from June 27 to June 30, 2019.
Multiple Slovak films will premiere at 27th Art Film Fest Košice (June 14 – 22, 2019), but the festival will also present films from the past.
